Current residence: Unknown location in the Underworld;
Alignment: Chaotic evil;

His true name is known by few, but the most consider that just unimportant, for, named or not, his threat is unimaginable. His name has no importance, but his power does. Known by few these days, and of those few the worst nightmare, the Great Maw is possibly one of the greatest evils in the world.

Long time ago, he was a Spawn King, ruler of a hive of icy nightmares. He did not have any important name back then, and was pretty much like any other Spawn king, a ruthless, intelligent and strong tyrant. Among the most powerful of his race, he was viewed as one of the cleverest. Like most Earth demons, he knew of the outside world, and being an incarnation of greed, his prime objective was to leave the forsaken place and expand his dominion. This was the case of most Spawn kings, yet none of them could disobey the Spawn Emperor, so they mostly uselessy contempled their cravings. Things for Terrondhos changed when, under unknown circumstances, he managed to leave the Gehenna.

Of course, he suffered the fate any of the Earth Demons encountered when they left the Cursed Land: he experienced a day-long coma which deprived him of any connection with the Spawn, rendering him infertile and cutting the link he had with the Emperor. He however retained his intelligence, shape-shifting powers, and gained the gift of indipendence.

No longer anybody's slave, Terrondhos awoke from his coma with a newfound goal to become again a king, and a terrible one. His de-connection with the Spawn did not deprive him of his greed, and he immediately set to work. Devouring the first creature coming to reach, he began to build his new reign.

He found a new interest in the art mortals called 'magic'. Of course he already knew about it, and back in Gehenna he was quite skilled with spells, but he never knew there were so many uses and varieties of magic. Wearing various identities as masks, the Earth Demon studied the ways of magic for decades, becoming a very skilled sorcerer.

In the meantime, he travelled much, searchin for useful knowledge and making contacts with many races he deemed as useful, like Orcs, Trolls, and even some Drows. Tough none of them knew about his true identity, they saw the potential this stranger bore. After he obtained their trust, it was easy for him to manipulate them. He was not used to soldiers who were only partially loyal, but he managed to give them motives to listen to him.

At the apex of his power, he revealed himself to the world for the tyrant he was, and took on the name Terrondhos, 'Bringer of Terror'. Moving with his newfound army to the North Lands, He enslaved local creatures and forced them to build a fortress of enchanted metal and ice, where he could scheme and plot in peace through centuries.

Earth Demons are immortal, but his loss of status made Terrondhos vulnerable to aging. Two centuries after his escape, he began to feel the weight of passing time. He then began to experiment on arcane in a pursue of eternal life that wouldn't imply undeath, or demonic affairs. He passed years experimenting with alchemy and dark magic, until, one day, he distilled an elixir that, when he drank it , changed his ice element powers and cold attributes into fiery ones, creating a burning furnace in his stomach. Whatever he ate, any material, would be burned and fused in this organ, regenerating him. As long as he ate, he would've been ever-lasting. To help himself in this, he ate right away a supply af Magic Crystals, and substitued his old teeth with those, thus gaining an invincible bite.

During his experimentations, Terrondhos gathered various specimens of magical creatures for later uses, of for blood sacrifices to obtain dark favors. It is known that he had a brief infatuation with a very beautiful fairy and, assuming a humanoid form he thought siutable, he abused her several times. The tyrant was yes deprived of the ability to create spawn Drones, but nothing prevented his mortal form from being fertile. As proof of this, one day the fairy, attended to by Terrondhos's servants, gave birth to a healty baby boy. The birth was troubled since her conditions were not good, and in the end she died from desperation and pain. Terrondhos, present the whole time of the delivery, but appearently unaffected by the whole thing, just swallowed her body. He then picked up his son, but, looking at him, he felt somewhat unable to hurt the little one, so he just kept him, and named him Mordred.

Some years later, a great champion presented himself to the massive gates of the fortress, challenging its master to duel. His fists hit the enchanted doors uselessy, but his challenge echoed all around the cold walls, and Terrondhos came, in a half humanoid form, with enchanted armor and an alabard-staff as a weapon. They dueled for hours, with the now 11 Mordred and all of the tyrant's minions watching from the walls. In the end, Terrondhos fell, mortally injuried and barely able to move. When he heard his son screaming for him, he turned to look at him, but so did the hero. Surprised, but disgusted and angry, the light champion declared that he was no worth to have a child, and he would not allow him to corrupt such an innocent creature, promising to take the little one with him to be well-taught. At hearing this, something in the twisted Rakshasa broke, and he retook his alabard and jumped on the former winner. He mauled him with a ferocity never seen before, and he even burned to ash the corpse of his foe, erasing him form existance. However, this left him with nothing to eat to regenerate. In desperation, he threw himself at his massive gates, crystal teeth cutting away chunks of enchanted metal that were immediately swallowed and fused. After having consumed his whole gates, Terrondhos used the ingested metal to form a new skin, a formidable armor, thick and powerful, that left space for him to move without problems.

This done, he took his few remaining minions and his son and vanished to the Underworld. Today, most belive him dead, rotting in some dark spot of the Abyss.

Terrondhos, in truth, found home in a huge cavern, nearly the size of a region, located somewhere where the river Phlegetont and the river Styx converse. The strange temperature swaps and the occasional light coming from strange crystals even allowed the most diverse habitats, from jungles to swamps, even vast lakes or endless dark pits. In this world, he discovered a race unknown to many others, the Depth Goblins. When he came, all of them saw him as the godthey worshipped, the Great Maw, and put themselves in his service. He quickly made use of them and they began to build his new evil empire: a dark tower, nearly as tall as the cave, and all around areas to harbor an army.

He has various autposts in the surface world, most are fortresses that glow with unholy energies. His son, Mordred, has been put to guard and reign on one of those.

Weapons and Items:

Enchanted Maw- Terron's teeth have been substitued with Magic Crystals, and as such he gained a whide variety of abilities all related to his jaws and his eating powers. He can create a vortex that will swipe anything into his mouth, swallow large creatures by magically lessening them, or release energies in warious forms. What's more, the Crystals are virtually indestructible, and his powerful jaws joins the group to form the nastier bite ever;

Gate Armor- The armor that covers Terrondhos's body is made out of the enchanted metal that once formed his old stronghold's gates. This armor is a formidable shield for the tyrant, and has demonstrated to resist even to Dwarf-forged weapons. The ancient enchantments are still present in the material, and allow their master to teleport wherever he wishes;

Vesuvius- Forged in the fires of Phlegeton and cooled in the Styx's waters, this enourmus mace holds great powers in its metal mass. Just a swipe from this weapon will utterly annhilate any who stand its way, may it be a Giant or an army. Some Depth Goblins thrown in the liquid metal also gave the weappon the ability to cause elemental damage at the will of the wielder. Also, the forging ritual gave it slight Underworld-related abilities. This mace works only, ONLY if wielded by Terrondhos, for the Goblins's spirits inhabiting it won't let anyone else use its powers;

Abilities

Unholy Strenght- As an ex-Spawn King, Terron' is very strong, and can lift and slam around even Giants and trolls to his spite;

Drill Tail- The tyrant's tail is formed by metal sections which allow total movability, and can spin around to their owner's will, creating a devastating drill-like attack. The mace-like appendage recently fused to the tip of the limb just made it more dangerous;

Regeneration- Consuming materials, the Great Maw can endure forever. No matter how badly he is injuried, if he gets his jaws on something, he will heal no matter what;

Digestic Absorption- What he eats becomes part of him. He did only once, but the materials he ingest can be used to build himself a new form, but he doesn't see the point in doing so, for his armor as few, if any, equals around;

Mastermind- Behind all that metal and those new battle-hardened muscles still lies the mind of a Spawn King. Terron enjoys nothing more than keeping things under control, even if he likes to smash them with Vesuvius too. His various spies and seers gather informations for their master to use for his pleasing, and in his tower he passes hours plotting and scheming. Most of the time he doesn't even have to use his armies, for more than one war ensued thanks to his deceptions and assassination games;

Depth Goblins- Tribes of higly specialized goblinoids that found in the armored tyrant the incarnation of their diety. They come in various species, each specialized in a style of fighting, to put their talent to the master's spite. Terron' has also found ways to modify and empower them while experimenting with magic. They're completely loyal to their master and won't betray him for any reason, not even death. In fact, more than one has retourned from death to continue serving the master;

Master Spellcaster- From experience comes strenght, and the three centuries passed studying magic have given the overlord a fairly good skill with the arcane energies, so much that he can even impose his will on entire village, making t his slave;

Attacks:

Strike- strikes with the brute force of Vesuvius;
Energy Strike- Vesuvius in powered with energy to blow away anything close to what it hits with a strong wave;
Elemental Strike Same as Energy strike, but deals elemental damage;
Destroyer- A horizontal hit that releases dark energies to destroy anything it hits;
Seal of the Underworld- Slamming veruvius on the ground and moving it as a key, creates an area where all living things die and their souls endure just the time to obey to the wielder, before falling into the underworld;
Tornado of Hunger- Sucks anything in rage into the mouth of the Tyrant, creates health;
Call of the Master- Summons Depth Goblins;

Note: It is belived that the Spawn Emperor discovered the truth about his presumed dead son, and he's not happy about it. Indipendence is intorelable among Earth Demons, and the Emperor has made Terrnodhos a prime objective of his hatred, together with the other Earth Demo rulers. It is also belived that all the hatred of the Emperor comes from the fact that all the power Terrondhos obtained is nearly enought to rival his semi-divine powers. Nobody knows for sure, however.
