Description

Swhorks

Primeval gluttony incarned, these scourges of the seas are the insatiable monsters sailors so often describe, even if there's no real proof of any survivor of their attacks.

They live in groups, like orcas and whales.

Abilities: fast swimmers, bottomless hunger, powerful tails, strongest natural jaws, tentacle tongues;

1-Infant: they move in groups like piranhas, devouring everything in a split second;
2-Young: speed and strenght of sharks and orcas combined in these pack-hunting predators;
3-Adult(male)- One of the biggest creature ever, a powerful leviathan with jaws wide enought to devour an entire ship;
4-Adult(female)- Very fast beast able to crush and constrinct with her body;

Needs a new name, for now that's just a mix of "shark", "whale" and "orca"

Tribute to jaws, Orca, Piranhas, Monstro and Whamon;

First off, for a name, I'd suggest "Depthuns" (Depth-oons). Like RR, I got it from "depth". I'll get to the tenta-tongue idea at the bottom.

Infant:
I like the piranha angle, especially one with an orca's colors, but it's a bit plain and unassuming as a monster. Since piranhas are oddly round fish in profile view, and that the elder forms have several fins, I'd recommend giving the Infants several fins from just behind their heads all the way to the tailfins, and same setup on the underside. Basically, they're shiruken fish :iconevilgrinplz:.

Young:
The head is PERFECT. Give the whole thing some more bulk and round off the pectorals like an orca's (more surface area = more to grab victims with ;)), and I'd call it perfect.

Adult Male:
LOL Monstro!!
I like the Livyatan angle, and overall, I'm satisfied with it. Since sperm whale fins are way down along the tail, I'd suggest moving these beasts' fins there, and perhaps forming a monstous amalgam of flukes along the sides as well. Think lobster fins, vaguely. Also, like the Young, more bulk, but inthis case, much more. Whales are insanely burly animals, which gives them their legendary strength.

Adult Female:
I love Basilosaurus as much as the next guy, but as a female and not a different life-stage altogether, I'd give her more of the males' features. She can stay slim and elongate, but a rounding off of her snout like the male's wouldn't hurt. Everything else, look to the male's suggestion, but do with the bulk concept as you like.

Tenta-tongues:
This would certainly explain the killer cephalopod legends. Design-wise, I think they should stick with the adults only, as they're the only ones who seem physically capable of storing such organs and still being able to eat (the pleated throat). The size and shape is fine, save for the end (presumably the first part one sees when attacked); they lack a certain ferocity that is so abundant elsewhere in the design. I'd suggest looking at a true horror of the deep, a 10-foot predatory polychete worm called a Bobbit worm: [link]
